The Community Defibrillator was Commissioned on Monday 11 December 2017

.The Commissioning Team including Kapiti Rotary Club members, Kapiti Pakeke Lions Club member, a representative of the Raumati Sands Resort, representatives of Wellington Free Ambulance and members of the Kapiti Bowling Club.

The new AED or Defibrillator is now positioned on the front wall  of the Kapiti Bowling Club pavilion.

Here are the instructions for using the AED

In the case of a suspected cardiac arrest
1. Call 111
2. The operator will direct you to the nearest AED and give you a code number to enter into the keypad on the defibrillator box
3. Once the box is opened and the defibrillator is accessed it will automatically give voice commands for you to follow
4. The operator will also talk you through the use of the defibrillator and
5. An ambulance will be dispatched to the site.


The Club intends to obtain relevant training for members in due course.
